found on facebook. This poor woman came in to find her horse had been vandalized. They cut his mane, tail, and spray painted him. Why are people so mean? It’s only cosmetic, but it still takes a horrid person to do this to an animal. Happened near Rochester, NY. If any of my Tumblr followers has any idea or recognizes the mark on the horse, please help this woman find who did this: Link here
Also, guys, this woman has PTSD and this is basically her therapy horse. Extra important to spread this around.

This is Little Nina.
We found her on the side of the road in Cleveland Ohio, covered in mud and getting splashed by cars. I picked her up with intentions of nursing her back to health. The vet was kind enough to give me a free exam, which was enough to tell me that she has a severe upper respiratory infection and extreme malnutrition. Her eyes were glued shit with yellow gunk when I found her. And the vet told me that she thought she was about 5 weeks old, but was the size of a 3 week old kitten.
We already have two cats, both of which are rescues. We have plans on keeping her, but this was such a surprise for us, we didn’t have time to budget in another cat. I was able to get a sample sized tube of antibiotics for her eyes, but she is going to need more very soon. And eventually she will need to be spayed.
I don’t want to have to give her up because we can’t afford to keep her. Nina has a gofundme account set up for her vet bills. Please send what ever you can afford. She would greatly appreciate the chance to survive and stay in a nice warm home.
I don’t have much to offer for rewards, but this blog will follow Nina’s journey as she grows into a healthy cat! If you leave your address with a donation, we will send you a picture of her (when she is plump and healthy!) and a thank you letter.
Nina thanks you for taking the time to read this post! And may karma bring the best of luck your way!
Help save the honey bees! Please reblog and share :)
I’m very skeptical about this. Last I’ve heard, CCD is caused by a combination of factors, and to blindly point a finger at one source without references just ticks my bullshit meter. Anyone got science to back this up?
I checked out this page on the Ontario Beekeeper’s Association website, and found a couple of recent papers on the subject (though, granted, they are against the use of neonicotinoid, so it might be a one-sided story). The general consensus seems to be (bee?) that sublethal doses of neonicotinoids cause changes in behavior and physiology which leads to colony collapse - immune suppression to make them more susceptible to disease, negative change in foraging behavior, abandonment of poisoned hives, etc - so, yes, it seems that it is a combination of factors, which are aggravated by pesticide poisoning.

Journal of Environmental Immunology. 2013I’ve seen a bunch of “save the bees” post floating around tumblr, but this is the first one anyone bothered to put sources on.Thank you. (However I’m not going to look at the sources now, but hopefully I will remember to do so later.)
Not to mention that stopping the use of these pesticides is one of the easiest things we could control— if people were willing. It’s hard to control parasites and internal issues that the bee faces, but it is not hard to stop spraying crops with harmful pesticides.
THIS IS IMPORTANT, PLEASE DON’T FEED THESE TREATS TO YOUR DOGS
My mom bought these recently and they have made both of my dogs really sick. She later saw an article online about duck and sweet potato treats made in China(these fit the description) killing dogs and the FDA is doing nothing about it. Apparently over the last few years 600 young, healthy dogs have died after eating these treats and I don’t want anymore to suffer or be killed so please spread the word and don’t let your dogs have these!
This is VERY important! A lot of these animal treats made in China are killing dogs and cats. It’s not that the FDA isn’t doing anything about it, it’s simply that they don’t know why it’s happening.
They are conducting investigation after investigation, but the ingredients used in the food killing dogs (and 10 cats) is used in many different brands and companies that have been shipped, all from overseas. At this rate, a total recall and knowledge of where it’s coming from has proven very difficult. Just recalling one brand in particular will not solve the problem. Please conduct a thorough search about any brand of treats that have been made in China should you pick them up for your pet before you feed it to them. If all else fails, just buy local.
Please PLEASE be aware that this isn’t only happening to dogs, but some cat treats, too!
This may save lives!!
